Laboratory Bioreactor

Laboratory bioreactors are devices that provide a biologically active environment for the culture of live organisms, ideal for using in labs that are involved in cell, tissue, or microbial cultures, cell biology, and the food and beverage industry. Variables such as temperature, nutrient content, pH, and oxygen can be carefully controlled within a bioreactor. Laboratory bioreactors are typically stainless steal or glass and vary by size, type of input, and mode of operation. There are three basic types of laboratory bioreactors, batch, fed batch, and continuous. In batch bioreactors, the environment is contained and nothing is added or removed while the culture is inside, in fed batch bioreactors nutrients are added to the culture as it is goes through its metabolic process, and in continuous bioreactors the reactants are continuously put into the bioreactor producing a continuous outflow of product from the culture.
