X-Ray Emission Spectroscopy (XES) Technology

X-ray emission spectroscopy (XES) technology mainly involves a secondary photoelectronic process. Various X-ray emission spectra can be obtained by modulating the energy of the incident X-ray and by collecting the fluorescence signal through the high-resolution spectrometer collector. Compared to conventional X-ray absorption fine structure spectroscopy (XAFS), XES spectra have higher energy resolution and complement the XAFS method to obtain full orbital electronic and atomic structure information. XES is widely used in the fields of chemistry, earth science, environmental science and life science.
