Hybridization and Crosslinking

A hybridization oven is a vital piece of laboratory equipment that provides urgent temperature control and a constant temperature environment, ideal for Southern, Northern, and Western blots; hybridization of nucleic acids, such as DNA or RNA, to their complementary sequences; and binding nucleic acids to nitrocellulose or nylon-reinforced transfer membranes or other media. Crosslinkers allow users to quickly, safely, and efficiently expose samples to a controlled amount of ultraviolet radiation. The crosslinkers are designed to measure and control the UV radiation within the exposure chamber. It is used to modify the structures of nucleic acids, proteins and microorganisms; in linking nucleic acids to membranes for blotting procedures; etc.
