Medical Device Catheter Dynamics Performance Testing

Medical Device Catheter Dynamics Performance Testing

STEMart offers state-of-the-art technology and facilities to provide multiple catheter dynamics performance testing in order to simulate the anatomical pathway that a device could follow when in-vivo system, in particular, we can offer representative anatomical models in PVA and Silicon for catheter dynamics performance testing services, including healthy and diseased models.

Our Catheter Dynamics Performance Testing:

  • Catheter Push

Catheter Push test is designed to ascertain the efficiency of the catheter in terms of transmitting force from the proximal end of the shaft to the distal end. In another word, this test uses the proximal and distal load cell to measure the amount of force the distal tip of the product sees when a known force is being applied to the product on the proximal end.

  • Catheter Track

The Catheter Track test measures the ability of the catheter to travel through the tortuous anatomy of the vessel being navigated by the catheter. In another word, this test measures the force required to advance the catheter, guidewire, or another minimally invasive instrument through the artificial artery.

  • Catheter Cross

The Catheter Cross test measures the ability of the catheter distal section to cross a lesion or restriction, after tracking through customer-defined anatomy.

In another word, it's a comparative test using the track test data to determine if coatings have an effect on the force required to advance products through an artificial artery.

  • Wire Movement

The Wire Movement test provides an indication of the interaction between the catheter and the guidewire as the catheter travels along the tortuous path. In another word, this test measures the force needed to advance a guidewire through a catheter, a guide catheter, or a similar minimally invasive instrument

  • Wire Torsion

The Wire Torsion test provides a measure of the responsiveness of the wire as the user attempts to steer it along the tortuous path. In another word, this test measures a catheter tip's ability to track over a specified bend in a guidewire, such as 90 degrees.

With extensive expertise in medical device catheter dynamics performance testing, STEMart can provide a full-service experience, support manufacturers to meet the regulatory goals, and minimize the compliance risks.
