Chromatography Technology

The essence of chromatography is the process in which the molecules of the substances to be separated are distributed and balanced between the stationary phase and the mobile phase. Using chromatography, the separation operation of complex substances can be completed in a few minutes to tens of minutes, and large-scale preparation of pure substances can be realized.

The application of chromatography can be divided into two categories according to the purpose of preparative chromatography and analytical chromatography. The purpose of preparative chromatography is to separate mixtures to obtain pure components, including the purification of organic synthesis products, the separation and purification of natural products, and the preparation of deionized water. Chromatography can separate mixtures in a single operation. The purpose of analytical chromatography is to quantitatively or qualitatively determine the nature and content of components in a mixture. Qualitative analytical chromatography includes thin-layer chromatography, paper chromatography, etc., and quantitative analytical chromatography includes gas chromatography, high performance liquid chromatography, etc. Chromatography is used in the analysis field to combine the process of separation and determination, which reduces the difficulty of mixture analysis and shortens the analysis period. Chromatography is currently the mainstream analysis method.

Chromatography Columns

Chromatography is an analytical technique that separates components in a mixture. Chromatographic columns are part of the instrumentation that is used in chromatography. Columns play a central role in the performance of chromatographic process. Well-packed columns with consistent performance in the whole design space of a process will deliver consistent product recovery and separation from contaminants.
