Cell Culture Technology

Cell culture is the process by which cells are grown under controlled conditions, generally outside their natural environment. After the cells of interest have been mechanically or enzymatically isolated from living tissue, they can subsequently be maintained under carefully controlled conditions in an incubator. These conditions generally consist of a suitable vessel with a substrate or rich medium that supplies the essential nutrients (amino acids, carbohydrates, vitamins, minerals), growth factors, hormones and gases (CO2, O2), and regulates the physio-chemical environment (pH buffer, osmotic pressure, temperature). Cells can then survive, grow, reproduce and maintain primary structure and function.

Primary Cell Culture

Primary Cell Culture means that after the tissue is isolated from the donor, it is separated into a single cell or a single type of cell group by mechanics and digestion. By simulating the human physiological environment in vitro, cells can survive, grow and reproduce under sterile, appropriate temperature and certain nutritional conditions.

Cell Subculture

After the primary cells are successfully cultured, they need to be separated and cultured, otherwise the cell growth will be affected by insufficient living space or excessive density and nutritional barriers. Cell Subculture is the process in which cells are separated and diluted from the original culture flask and then transferred to a new culture flask for further culture.

Cell Cryopreservation

Cell Cryopreservation is a technique of storing cells in an ultra-low temperature environment to temporarily "hibernate" cells, and then revive them when needed.

Cell Recovery

Cell Recovery is a technique for rapidly thawing cells frozen in -80℃ refrigerator or liquid nitrogen, and allowing cells to grow back again.
