Laminar Flow Hood / Laminar Flow Cabinet

Laminar flow hoods / Laminar flow cabinets can protect the working environment from dust and other airborn contaminants by maintaining a constant, unidirectional flow of HEPA-filtered air over the work area. Laminar flow cabinets are equipped with a fan module with 99.99 percent-efficient high-efficiency particulate air (HEPA) or 99.999 percent-efficient ultra-low penetration air (ULPA) filters that cleans air and directs it in horizontal or vertical airflow towards a working area at a constant speed. Air is drawn through a HEPA filter and blown in a very smooth, laminar flow towards the user. Due to the direction of air flow, the sample is protected from the user but the user is not protected from the sample.
