Capillary Viscometer Method

Capillary viscometer method calculations are performed using suspended level (Ubbelohde type capillary viscometer) and Ostwald type viscometers. The basic principle of capillary viscosity measurement is to measure the time it takes for a liquid to flow in a capillary tube, and then calculate the viscosity of the liquid. The capillary method uses a capillary tube with a circular cross-section as a flow channel to measure the time it takes for a liquid to flow through the capillary tube under the action of gravity. Depending on the properties of the liquid and its temperature, the viscosity of the liquid can be derived. The capillary method for measuring viscosity has great application value in the fields of liquid rheology, biochemistry, food and pharmaceuticals.
