X-Ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS) Technology

X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) is a surface chemical analysis technology that can be used to analyze the surface chemistry of a material in a specific state or after some processing. XPS can be used to test the material surface element composition and chemical state information. XPS spectra are obtained by irradiating a solid surface with a beam of X-rays and measuring the kinetic energy of electrons emitted from 1-10 nm from the material's surface. XPS is widely used in electronic devices, catalysts, environmental science, polymers and energy storage.
