Microscope Objective

Microscope objective is manufactured and corrected to take one or more of these aberrations into consideration within each optical component. The information etched on the barrel of an objective (in addition to magnification, objective type, numerical aperture (NA) and so on) will also contain information concerning the optical correction. Microscope objectives are perhaps the most important components of an optical microscope, as they are responsible for primary image formation and play a central role in determining the quality of images that the microscope is capable of producing. Objectives also help determine the magnification of a particular specimen and the resolution under which fine specimen details can be observed in the microscope.
