Dynamic and Static Light Scattering (DLS / SLS) Technology

Light scattering refers to the phenomenon that a part of light propagates away from the original direction when it passes through an inhomogeneous medium. Light scattering technology is a method to characterize macromolecules and various particles in solution by using the principle of light scattering. Light scattering technology is widely used in crystal growth studies of biomacromolecules, including static light scattering and dynamic light scattering. The second dimension coefficient of protein solution penetration can be measured by static light scattering. Dynamic light scattering can be used to measure the translational diffusion coefficient of protein solution, obtain the hydrodynamic radius and distribution of protein particles in solution, separate the nucleation and growth process of protein crystallization, and study the aggregation behavior of macromolecules and the dynamics of crystal growth.
