The LC-WSB-1 is a portable whiteness meter for evaluating white and near-white material surfaces. It measures blue-light whiteness according to the R457 reflectance method. The instrument uses 45/0 illumination and observation geometry. A completely reflecting ideal surface is defined as a whiteness value of 100, while a nonreflecting black surface is defined as zero. The optical, detection, processing, and display systems work together to provide direct numerical results. A high-definition LCD supports clear reading without significant interference from ambient light. The sample holder and movable platform reduce light leakage around the measurement aperture. Low-drift precision circuitry and a long-life light source support stable operation. A nationally calibrated white standard plate transfers the reference value for reliable measurement.
