Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) is a technique used to obtain an infrared spectrum of absorption or emission of a solid, liquid, or gas. An FTIR spectrometer simultaneously collects high-resolution spectral data over a wide spectral range. FTIR is the preferred method of infrared spectroscopy for several reasons. It has several benefits: First, it does not destroy the sample. Second, it is significantly faster than older techniques. Third, it is much more sensitive and precise.
