Dysprosium oxide (Dy2O3) is a rare earth sesquioxide semiconductor that is a moderately hygroscopic, thermally stable, highly insoluble material. Dy2O3 nanoparticles (NPs) can be used as an additive for manufacturing metal Dysprosium materials, glass, and neodymium-iron-boron permanent magnets. Dy2O3 NPs are also used in metal halide lamps, magneto-optical memory materials, yttrium-iron or yttrium-aluminum garnets, and the atomic energy industry.
