The Beckman Optima™ XL-80 K Ultracentrifuge is designed to generate powerful centrifugal forces for efficient particle separation. With a maximum speed of 80,000 rpm, this high-performance centrifuge provides the fastest separation rates in the shortest time. Beckman centrifuges feature the ESP™ high-efficiency sedimentation program, which stimulates gradient formation and accelerates the separation of sample components through a wide selection of rotors.
The Optima™ XL-80 K centrifuge is capable of performing common centrifuge related calculations such as CsCl deceleration and run transitions. Additionally, the unbalance tolerant drive allows visual balancing of rotor loads while eliminating the need for the user to weigh individual samples.
Like all other Optima™ XL Series devices, the XL-80k is equipped with a microprocessor control system that enables fast, interactive and menu-driven operation using advanced software features and simple user setup. In addition, the unit offers a program library that can hold up to 9 standard programs.
The acceleration/deceleration profiles of Beckman centrifuges allow immediate customization of operating conditions. The dual display of "set" and "actual" operating parameters also allows the user to easily monitor the operation. Additional attributes of the Beckman Optima™ XL-80 K centrifuge include an air-cooled drive and thermoelectric heating/cooling system, high torque direct drive induction motor, built-in rotor and tube catalog.
