Principle

Polyphenol oxidase (PPO) can catalyze the oxidation of phenolic compounds to quinones. The latter has characteristic light absorption at 410 nm. The activity of PPO enzyme can be calculated by comparing with the increase of absorbance value.

It is suitable for detecting the activity of polyphenol oxidase (PPO) in plant tissue samples.

Procedure

1. Prepare standard samples and experimental samples.
2. Add reaction reagents in order for reaction.
3. Measure the absorbance of each tube.
