Phenol and sodium hypochlorite react with GABA to produce a blue-green product with maximum light absorption at 640 nm.

Applications

It is suitable for the determination of gamma-aminobutyric acid in animal and plant tissue samples.

Procedure

1. Prepare standard samples and experimental samples.
2. Add reaction reagents in order for reaction.
3. Measure the absorbance of each tube.
4. Make the mark curve and calculate the result.
