Analysis of D-Xylose by Ultraviolet-visible Spectrophotometer (CAT#: STEM-MB-1313-LGZ)

Introduction

Sensitivity: 0.007 mmol/L
Detection range: 0.007-4 mmol/L
Precision: inter-lot difference of 4.5%, intra-lot difference of 2.2%
Detection equipment: Ultraviolet-visible Spectrophotometer
Detection wavelength: 554 nm

Principle

In the strong acid solution, the dehydration of D-xylose produced furfural, which reacted with phloroglucinol to produce pink compounds. Colorimetric determination was made at wavelength 554 nm, and the content of D-xylose could be obtained by calculation.

Applications

It is suitable for the determination of D- xylose in animal serum, plasma and urine.

Procedure

1. Prepare standard samples and experimental samples.
2. Add reaction reagents in order for reaction.
3. Measure the absorbance of each tube.
4. Make the mark curve and calculate the result.

Materials

• Sample Type: animal serum, plasma, urine
