Analysis of Malondialdehyde (MDA) by Ultraviolet-visible Spectrophotometer (CAT#: STEM-MB-1315-LGZ)

Introduction

Sensitivity: 0.38 nmol/mL
Detection range: 0.38-133.33 nmol/mL
Precision: inter-lot difference of 8%, intra-lot difference of 4.9%
Detection equipment: Ultraviolet-visible Spectrophotometer
Detection wavelength: 532 nm

Principle

Malondialdehyde (MDA) in the degradation products of lipid peroxide can react with thiobarbituric acid (TBA) to produce the red-brown product 3,5,5 '-trimethyloxazol2, 4-dione (trimethicone) under high temperature and acidic environment. The maximum absorption peak of MDA is at 532nm.

Applications

It is suitable for the detection of MDA content in serum (plasma), animal tissue and other samples.

Procedure

1. Prepare standard samples and experimental samples.
2. Add reaction reagents in order for reaction.
3. Measure the absorbance of each tube.
4. Make the mark curve and calculate the result.

Materials

• Sample Type: Serum (plasma), animal tissue
