The Recombinant Human EPO Protein manufactured by Seafrom is suitable for stimulating red blood cell production in hematopoiesis.
Erythropoietin (EPO) is a glycoprotein hormone primarily known for its role in promoting erythropoiesis, stimulating the proliferation and differentiation of red blood cell progenitors. EPO is essential for the differentiation of CFU-E cells into mature red blood cells and is a key factor in maintaining red blood cell levels.
In adult mammals, the physiological levels of EPO are predominantly regulated by the kidneys, while in fetuses or neonates, the liver plays a crucial role in maintaining EPO levels.
EPO also exhibits various non-hematopoietic activities, including promoting angiogenesis, stimulating smooth muscle proliferation, providing neuroprotection in hypoxic conditions, and acting as a stimulant for certain B cells.
The lyophilized formulation can be stored at 2-8°C for up to 24 months. For reconstitution, suitable solvents such as sterile water for injection, saline, culture media, or PBS can be used. Once reconstituted, the product should be divided into smaller aliquots, stored at -20°C for up to 6 months, or at -80°C for up to 12 months. The diluted solution should maintain a concentration of no less than 100μg/mL, and repeated freeze-thaw cycles should be avoided.
