PROTEINDEX™ Ion Exchange Media CM, SP, DEAE, Q Sepharose 6FF is specially developed for high resolution separation of proteins, peptides, nucleic acids and other charged biomolecules according to their surface charge differences. The basic matrix of PROTEINDEX™ IEX-CM, IEX-SP, IEX-DEAE, IEX-Q is highly cross-linked 6% agarose, which has excellent chemical and physical stability.

The type of charge group determines the type and strength of the exchanger, while the total number and availability of the charge group determines the capacity. Sulfonic acids and quaternary amines form strong ion exchangers that completely ionize over a wide pH range. Others form weak ion exchangers whose degree of dissociation and exchange capacity vary significantly with pH. "Strong" and "weak" refer to the degree of pH ionization, not to the strength of binding.

Marvelgent ion exchange media is optimized for high sample loading capacity, reliable, reproducible performance, and is suitable for process-scale chromatography.
