Whole Genome DNA Methylation Sequencing (WGBS) (CAT#: STEM-MB-0042-WXH)

Introduction

Whole genome bisulfite sequencing(WGBS) is a next-generation sequencing technology used to determine the DNA methylation status of single cytosines by treating the DNA with sodium bisulfite before high-throughput DNA sequencing. The
DNA methylation is an epigenetic mechanism to regulate gene expression and involves adding a methyl group to a cytosine base. Abnormal methylation patterns have been associated with several conditions and diseases, such as cancer.
Advantages of whole genome methylation sequencing (WGBS):
1. High measurement accuracy
2. Wide detection range
3. High reliability
4. High cost performance

Applications

• Research on basic mechanisms of cell differentiation and tissue development
• Animal and plant breeding
• Disease treatment
• Regulation of gene expression
• Cancer research
• Epigenetic Heterogeneity Studies
• Chromatin remodeling

Procedure

1. Quality inspection of genomic DNA preparation
2. Library construction and sequencing
3. Data filtering quality control
