This strong cation-exchange medium is designed for high-throughput capture and purification of biological macromolecules. It uses a polymethyl methacrylate matrix with a hydrophilic surface treatment. Strong sulfonic-acid functional groups provide cation-exchange binding. The 80 µm particles support higher flow rates while maintaining packed-bed stability. A 1000 Å pore size provides access for antibodies, proteins, peptides, oligonucleotides, viruses, and insulin. The rigid matrix resists compression and supports operation at elevated linear velocities. Low nonspecific adsorption helps maintain product recovery during repeated cycles. The medium is compatible with acids, bases, and a broad range of listed organic solvents.
