This strong anion-exchange medium is designed for high-capacity purification of biological products. It uses a polystyrene-divinylbenzene matrix with a hydrophilic surface treatment. Quaternary amine groups provide strong anion-exchange functionality. The hydrophilic surface reduces nonspecific adsorption compared with untreated polymeric media. The rigid matrix tolerates high pressure and supports operation at high flow rates. A dynamic binding capacity of at least 140 mg BSA/mL reduces the required packed-bed volume. High resolution supports impurity removal and product-yield improvement. Broad salt tolerance increases process flexibility and simplifies method development. The medium is suitable for monoclonal antibodies, recombinant proteins, vaccines, blood products, viruses, DNA, and peptides.
