This high-flow agarose medium is designed for gel-filtration purification of proteins, nucleic acids, and peptides. It is produced by crosslinking a six-percent agarose base matrix. The enhanced crosslinking improves chemical stability and mechanical strength. Molecules are separated according to their hydrodynamic size and pore accessibility. The medium provides a globular-protein exclusion range from 10000 to 4×10⁶ Da. High flow and relatively low backpressure support efficient preparative processing. Low nonspecific adsorption and high recovery support repeated downstream use. Broad chemical compatibility permits alkaline cleaning and exposure to alcohols, acetonitrile, detergents, and denaturants. The matrix also tolerates the stated steam-treatment conditions.
