This high-flow agarose medium is designed for gel-filtration purification of proteins, nucleic acids, and peptides. It is produced by further crosslinking a four-percent agarose base matrix. The enhanced crosslinking improves chemical stability and mechanical performance. Molecules are separated according to their hydrodynamic size and access to the internal pores. The broad exclusion range supports processing of large biological molecules. The medium provides relatively high flow and low nonspecific adsorption. High product recovery and repeatable reuse support preparative downstream processing. Broad pH and solvent compatibility permit alkaline cleaning and exposure to denaturants. The matrix also tolerates the stated steam-treatment conditions.
