Description

PEA (Phenylethyl Alcohol) Agar is a selective medium used to isolate Gram-positive cocci from mixed cultures containing both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria. The phenylethyl alcohol component inhibits Gram-negative organisms while 5% sheep blood allows Gram-positive bacteria to grow.
