The Multi Manifold Vertical Freeze Dryer OLB-FD12P, 8 External Drying Flasks is a laboratory freeze dryer that removes water from heat sensitive samples by sublimation under vacuum. The sample is frozen first, then held under reduced pressure so that ice passes directly into the vapour phase and is collected on the cold trap. The cold trap is cooled well below the sublimation temperature, which keeps moisture away from the vacuum pump and maintains the working pressure. Process parameters are followed on the touch screen, where sample temperature, cold trap temperature and vacuum are shown as numbers and as curves. Data from each run is stored in the controller, so a later batch can be compared with earlier ones without external logging. The stainless steel cold trap and work top resist corrosion and can be wiped down between runs. Drying takes place inside a transparent chamber, which allows the operator to watch the product while the cycle proceeds. Eight flask ports are fitted alongside the shelf stack, so tray drying and flask drying can be run in the same cycle. A USB port is provided so that the recorded cycle data can be taken away on a memory stick and filed outside the instrument.
