The Microm HM 440 E microtome is an ergonomically designed sliding microtome guaranteeing high functionality and advanced features for superior performance. It employs state-of-the-art electronic control systems and high-precision mechanics for optimal sectioning quality and repeatability, even for the most difficult specimens to cut. It can accommodate specimen sizes up to 80 x 60 mm and can cut from 1 to 100 microns.

With a very smooth knife carrier movement, the HM 440 E Microtome offers fast, comfortable, stress-free operation. Its maintenance-free crossed roller bearings allow smooth sliding motion with optimum stability. The HM 440 E also features an automatic fine/trimming feed system that protects the knife and specimen by retracting the specimen during the return stroke.

The HM 440 E microscope unit can also move specimens continuously up and down via a motorized rougher system. The system features three different speed settings and a multifunction button control that allows for quick adjustment of specimen and knife-edge distance.
