MaXtar® Blue is an affinity chromatography medium created by covalently linking Cibacron Blue to a highly cross-linked agarose matrix using a triazine coupling method. The blue dye Cibacron Blue can bind to various proteins, such as albumin, lipoprotein, interferon, and coagulation factors. It also binds to a variety of enzymes, including kinases, dehydrogenases, and most enzymes that require adenosine-containing cofactors (such as NAD+). MaXtar® Blue is primarily used for the separation and purification of albumin, interferon, various nucleotide-dependent enzymes, α2-macroglobulin, coagulation factors, and related proteins.
