C-VRE (Vancomycin-Resistant Enterococci Chromogenic Medium) is an in vitro diagnostic device used to detect vancomycin-resistant enterococci (VRE) through direct plating of human fecal samples, rectal swabs, or isolated enterococcal colonies.
The medium enables selective growth and colorimetric identification of Enterococcus faecalis and other enterococci, confirming vancomycin resistance based on characteristic color development.
