Description

The Vi-CELL provides an automated and cost-effective means to perform cell viability analysis by trypan blue dye exclusion. These data are critical to the decision-making process for passaging cells in basic tissue culture and maintaining optimal culture conditions in bioreactors. Cell and tissue culture applications in life science research, including recombinant protein and biopharmaceutical production, require precision, precision and automation only found in the Vi-CELL Cell Viability Analyzer. Compared to manual hemocytometers, the Beckman ViCell automates a previously laborious process with exceptional accuracy and reliability.

Vi-CELL allows users to load up to 10 samples at a time for convenient and automatic cell counting. A cell sample is loaded into the system (minimum 600uL, but can dilute and dilute to factor final results), instrument aspirate sample, mix Tyrannosaurus blue, load sample into chamber, record: Cell count/ml (equivalent to 100" grid"), survival rate and size distribution. It then performs a clean cycle and repeats for the next sample in the conveyor belt. The processing time per sample is approximately 2.5 minutes, although there are user programmable features to reduce or increase this time.

The automated trypan blue staining procedure can be customized to ensure consistent and accurate cell counts for simple systems such as CHO cells and more complex samples such as yeast. The rugged design provides years of duty and can be operated by individuals of all skill levels. High-quality, premixed reagents help eliminate variability.
