Analysis of MMP-9 (total) (Mouse) by MSD Hypersensitive Multi-Factor Electrochemiluminescence Analyzer (CAT#: STEM-MB-0441-LGZ)

Introduction

Matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs), belonging to the metzincins superfamily, are a class of zinc-dependent endopeptidases that degrade various protein components of the ECM. Matrix metalloproteinases are produced by a variety of tissues and cells. MMPs are secreted by proinflammatory cells and uteroplacental cells, including fibroblasts, osteoblasts, endothelial cells, vascular smooth muscle, macrophages, neutrophils, lymphocytes, and cytotrophoblasts.
