This gene encodes a protein with 5' to 3' exonuclease activity and RNase H activity. It is similar to the S. cerevisiae protein Exo1 that interacts with Msh2 and is involved in mismatch repair and recombination. Alternative splicing of this gene produces three transcript variants encoding two different isoforms.

Principle

Quantitative reverse transcription PCR (RT-qPCR) is an experimental method applied to PCR experiments using RNA as the starting material. In this method, total or messenger RNA (mRNA) is first transcribed into complementary DNA (cDNA) by reverse transcriptase. Subsequently, qPCR reaction was performed using cDNA as template.
