This activated carbon filter cartridge is designed for decolorization, deodorization, and contaminant adsorption in liquid processes. It is constructed from depth-type fibrous media filled and wrapped with high-quality activated carbon material. The outer precision fiber layer intercepts suspended particles before the liquid reaches the adsorption section. Activated carbon within the cartridge removes colorants, odors, volatile organic compounds, free chlorine, and other organic chemicals. An inner fiber layer retains carbon fines and small contaminants before the filtrate exits the cartridge. The depth-media structure provides a large active surface area for combined filtration and adsorption. It can be used as an alternative to loose activated carbon in active pharmaceutical ingredient processing. Other applications include drinking-water treatment, reverse-osmosis pretreatment, electroplating solutions, photographic chemicals, process-water circulation, and wastewater treatment. The multilayer arrangement helps maintain final filtrate quality while reducing the release of carbon particles.
