The WYA-2WAJ is an Abbe refractometer for measuring the refractive index and average dispersion of transparent or semitransparent materials. It is primarily intended for liquid samples but can also be used with suitable solid specimens. The instrument determines refractive index according to the critical-angle principle. Results can be used to evaluate optical properties, purity, and dispersion characteristics. It is suitable for sugar, pharmaceutical, beverage, petroleum, food, chemical, research, and teaching applications. The base is manufactured from stainless steel for structural durability. A hard-glass prism provides the optical measuring interface. Visual aiming and an optical scale provide direct manual reading. An external thermostat can be connected for measurements between 0 and 70°C, and the supplied temperature display can show sample temperature in real time.
