The WhaleWave wave bioreactor is designed for suspension cell culture using a rocking motion to provide mixing and oxygen transfer. Compared with stirred-tank systems, the mixing process is gentler and helps reduce shear-related cell damage. The rocking movement increases gas-liquid surface contact and supports efficient nutrient and oxygen transfer.
