The VWR Galaxy Mini Centrifuge is manufactured by VWR.
The Galaxy Mini Microcentrifuge is the smallest centrifuge in the Galaxy line. Ideal for personal use, the unit features a compact design and requires minimal bench space. The Galaxy Mini is suitable for use on the bench or in a cold room.
Each Galaxy Mini is supplied with two rotors. The standard rotor holds six 1.5/2.0 mL tubes. Adapters supplied with the unit allow spinning of smaller tubes as well. The strip rotor accepts two 8 x 0.2 mL strip tubes, or sixteen individual 0.2 mL tubes. The maximum speed of the Galaxy Mini is 6,000rpm. The resulting g-force is perfect for microfiltration and spindowns from the caps and walls of microcentrifuge tubes.
Operation of the centrifuge is simple. Upon closing the lid, the rotor quickly accelerates to maximum speed. Pressing the lid button stops operation. Alternatively, the unit can be turned on and off with the switch on the back.
