Violet Red Bile Glucose Agar (VRBGA) is a selective and differential medium designed for the detection and enumeration of Enterobacteriaceae in food and dairy products. It targets lactose-fermenting coliform bacteria, lactose-nonfermenting strain of E. coli and lactose-nonfermenting species, such as Salmonella and Shigella.
