This aqueous size-exclusion column family is designed for water-soluble macromolecules. The packing consists of hydrophilic, rigid, porous spherical polymer particles. It is suitable for proteins, peptides, polysaccharides, oligosaccharides, DNA, RNA, and synthetic polymers. The phase provides broad molecular-size coverage and relatively linear calibration behavior. Low adsorption makes the family especially useful for water-soluble synthetic polymers. The columns operate over a stated pH range of 2-12. Mobile phases may contain up to 50% compatible organic solvent. Most models can operate at temperatures up to 80°C.
