Tissue Embedding Center BK-TEV, 700 x 93 mm Work Surface (CAT#: STEM-AL2-2372-ZJF)

The tissue embedding center is a heated bench used to embed processed tissue in paraffin before sectioning. Molten paraffin is poured into a mould, the specimen is orientated, and a labelled cassette is placed on the mould. Once filled, the mould is transferred to a cold surface where the block sets and can be removed. This version is the embedding unit itself, and a separate freezing table is added to complete the arrangement. A week ahead start up day can be programmed so the bath is molten when the session begins. Temperature is held by a microcomputer controller, and two independent protections act if the bath overheats. The left and right holding baths take different cassette baskets and can be separated for cleaning. A flexible arm magnifier is supplied, which helps when very small biopsy specimens are being orientated. The last temperature setting is remembered after switch off, so daily work starts from the same condition.
