Description

This strong cation-exchange chromatography medium is designed for downstream purification of proteins, nucleic acids, and peptides. It uses a highly crosslinked agarose matrix functionalized with sulfopropyl groups. The spherical gel particles support high flow with relatively low backpressure. A lysozyme adsorption capacity above 55 mg/mL supports productive capture and intermediate purification. Low nonspecific adsorption helps maintain product recovery during chromatographic processing. The matrix provides chemical and mechanical stability for repeated process use. Its broad short-term pH range supports cleaning-in-place procedures. The medium can be scaled from process development to manufacturing columns. It also tolerates the stated steam-treatment conditions for compatible applications.
