This strong cation-exchange medium is designed for downstream purification of proteins, nucleic acids, and peptides. It uses six-percent crosslinked agarose functionalized with sulfonic-acid groups. The large spherical particles provide high permeability and low operating backpressure. Strong cation-exchange functionality remains ionized across a broad working range. The medium supports high linear flow under the specified pressure differential. Broad chemical compatibility allows use with common buffers, denaturants, alcohols, and cleaning solutions. Low nonspecific adsorption supports good product recovery. The medium can be cleaned in place and reused in scalable purification processes. It is stored in an ethanol and sodium acetate solution at controlled temperature.
