This strong cation-exchange chromatography medium is designed for capture, intermediate purification, and polishing of biomolecules. It uses a polymethyl methacrylate matrix with a hydrophilic surface modification. Strong sulfonic-acid ion-exchange groups are bonded to the particle surface. The 50 µm particles provide high chromatographic resolution and stable packed-bed performance. A 1000 Å pore structure supports access by antibodies, proteins, peptides, nucleic acids, viruses, and insulin. The rigid polymer matrix provides high mechanical strength and low nonspecific adsorption. High lysozyme binding capacity supports productive large-scale downstream purification. The medium tolerates common buffers, acids, bases, and compatible organic solvents while strong oxidizing agents should be avoided.
