The residual chlorine colorimeter is a portable comparison instrument for measuring remaining chlorine in disinfected water. It is suitable for municipal tap water, private well water, elevated storage tanks, public swimming pools, hotel pools, rural water supplies, and wastewater. The instrument uses visual color comparison to estimate residual chlorine concentration. Separate versions are provided for pure-water and wastewater applications. The pure-water version covers lower chlorine concentrations from 0.05 to 1.1 mg/L. The wastewater version covers higher concentrations from 1.0 to 10.0 mg/L. The body is manufactured from transparent organic glass for direct color observation. Its compact and lightweight construction supports convenient field use. The instrument requires no electrical power and is designed for economical routine testing.
