This pleated PTFE cartridge is designed specifically for sterile gas exchange through tank vent housings. Its hydrophobic 0.22 µm membrane supports repeated air intake and exhaust while retaining microorganisms. The cartridge provides defined integrity and bubble-point performance for critical vent applications. Imported PTFE membrane configurations can also support water-intrusion integrity testing. The pleated structure provides sufficient gas-exchange area within a compact cartridge format. Maintaining the membrane in a dry condition is important for preserving airflow capacity. An electrically heated vent housing or heating jacket can be used to reduce condensation on the membrane. Preventing retained moisture also helps limit microbial growth on the filtration surface. The cartridge is suitable for purified-water tanks, water-for-injection tanks, preparation vessels, and other hygienic storage systems.
