The TC1000-S+ is a thermal cycler designed for DNA amplification through the polymerase chain reaction (PCR). Peltier-based thermoelectric modules provide rapid heating and cooling of the sample block for efficient thermal cycling. A heated lid maintains constant pressure and temperature on the tube caps to prevent condensation of sample vapor during cycling. The gradient function allows simultaneous application of different annealing temperatures across columns of the sample block, enabling rapid PCR optimization. A programmable protocol editor supports storage and retrieval of multiple PCR methods for repeated use. The instrument is compatible with standard PCR tubes, 8-strip tubes, and full 96-well PCR plates. The LCD or touchscreen interface provides intuitive programming, real-time run monitoring, and error diagnostics. For qPCR models, fluorescence detection optics enable real-time quantification of amplification products. Its compact bench-top design minimizes laboratory space requirements while delivering high-throughput cycling capacity.
