The Capel105 is a high performance capillary electrophoresis system offering high separation efficiency, fast analysis, high detection sensitivity and low reagent consumption. Sample pretreatment is simple, and both qualitative and quantitative analysis are supported. Separation is based on the difference in mobility and distribution behaviour of sample components inside a quartz capillary under a high voltage electric field, with ultraviolet detection. The instrument is fitted with a liquid constant temperature system that improves detection stability. A high intensity deuterium lamp and optimised optics give low detection limits. Several separation modes are available, including capillary zone electrophoresis, micellar electrokinetic chromatography, isoelectric focusing, gel electrophoresis and isotachophoresis. Automatic sample introduction can be performed electrokinetically or by pressure with fine step control. An efficient capillary water cooling system keeps temperature control precise while remaining economical. Capillary replacement takes only a few minutes, and the system is controlled from a computer with user friendly software.
