The ePTFE membrane is a hydrophobic expanded polytetrafluoroethylene membrane designed for air filtration, venting, and liquid barrier applications. Its natural hydrophobicity allows gas passage while blocking water penetration. The membrane provides strong chemical compatibility and can be used with corrosive chemicals. It is suitable for infusion devices, drug delivery devices, negative pressure drainage systems, and gas sterilization or virus filtration applications. Oleophobic treatment options are available for resistance to low-surface-tension liquids such as esters, alcohols, and oils. The membrane can be combined with support materials to improve assembly compatibility. It can be assembled using adhesive backing, compression, heat welding, or ultrasonic welding. The membrane is compatible with common plastic housings used in device assembly.
