The surfactants can be used as emulsifiers becaused that they reduce the interfacial tension between phases that are not easily miscible. Since surfactants require a certain amount of time to achieve this, the effectiveness of emulsifiers depends on the mixing kinetics. The Drop Volume Tensiometer – DVT50 is designed to measure how fast the emulsifier produce their effect and reduce the interfacial tension. The DVT50 spectrum ranges from a very fast process to a very slow process. This makes it possible to determine the dynamic mixing behavior and the near-static emulsion stability in one measurement. The measurement results facilitate the accurate optimization and dosage determination of the surfactant for emulsions.
